Want to help out?

LocalTeams is made possible by a small team, but the goal is a big one: bring down a highly funded company (GoodRec), and replace it with a free, federated alternative that will save local players millions in the years to come, and foster real communities: volunteer-run, casual, all surpluses tracked and reinvested into the essentials, never into shareholder dividends.

LocalTeams is shaped by organisers and players themselves. We care about automating things for admins, network effects and trust. We welcome all contributors to our open source project, provided they follow our very reasonable code of conduct.

Guidelines for technical contributions

Start with clear, scoped fixes that make a visible difference for admins, players or other developers. If it's security critical, please report it privately via email before submitting a public issue.

We also appreciate:

  • Bug reports with reproducible steps
  • Documentation improvements and clarifications

Submitting changes

  1. Pick an issue or raise a new one.
  2. Share your implementation plan before coding.
  3. Keep your changes minimal so that they only address the issue at hand.
  4. Add or update tests when behavior changes.
  5. Let us know if you used AI or if your change requires agreement to proprietary licenses by our userbase.

Product contributions

We also love receiving feedback from users, be that in the form of feature proposals or even general complaints.
