LocalTeams.org connects people for casual team sports (pickup games).
You can use LocalTeams.org to:

Sign up for a game
You don't need an account on LocalTeams.org to sign up for games.
A friend can invite you (by name); then you just need to confirm your
attendance through the game link.
Having an account carries a lot of benefits, though:
- Get notified by email for:
- newly scheduled games
- your registered game updates (confirmed, waitlisted, starting team changes, weather report)
- payment reminders
- Track your game history and statistics.
- Rank other players privately to help with team selection.
- Add yourself to the free-agent registry for pickup games nearby.
- Set your availability up to a week in advance: you'll be signed up for games automatically whenever you're available.
- Add a profile picture to help other players recognise you.
Join a group
There are three ways to join a group:
- Invitation from a friend

The easiest option:
ask a friend to invite you to the next game scheduled on LocalTeams.org.
You'll then have the option to add your own login/password.
- Branch-out from your usual group

If you are already a member of a group, and would like dual-membership in another group,
you can request to join that other group from within your account settings.
This sets up a membership request automatically.

- If you are completely new to LocalTeams.org, you can manually search through our
group directory based on sport and location.
You'll then be prompted to fill
out a form, and await approval from the group admins.
In this case some personal data is required, to help admins verify who you
are: name, phone number and an introduction message.
Set up a group
LocalTeams.org is made up of local groups playing team sports
together.

to set up a group.
As group admin, you'll be able to:

| Advertise | your group on Google and other search engines. |
| Change | player statuses (regular player, admin, banned, etc.) |
| Download | backups of your group's data, including spreadsheets. |
| Setup | recurring games. |
| Declare | group-wide rules regarding how teams are selected. |
| Approve | player membership requests. |
| Link | with other groups in the same sport. |
| Delegate | yourself or someone else as the treasurer. |
Privacy
LocalTeams.org aims to be a privacy-first platform.
Each group's data is stored separately, and we maintain strict protocols
for data transfer between groups. Membership is currently restricted
to adults.
The codebase is free and open-source, and can be
audited via our git repository. We do not share your personal data with
any third-party.
